Sam looked at him. The early daylight was only just creeping down into the shadows under the trees, but he saw his master's face very clearly, and his hands, too, lying at rest on the ground beside him. He was reminded suddenly of Frodo as he had lain, asleep in the house of Elrond, after his deadly wound. Then as he had kept watch Sam had noticed that at times a light seemed to be shining faintly within; but now the light was even clearer and stronger. Frodo's face was peaceful, the marks of fear and care had left it; but it looked old, old and beautiful, as if the chiselling of the shaping years was now revealed in many fine lines that had before been hidden, though the identity of the face was not changed.

J.R.R. Tolkien: The Lord of the Rings, Book 4, Chapter 4: Of herbs and stewed rabbit

The red foliage is a nice contrast to the more somber colors. The red really makes Frodo & Sam stand out, as they should. Your paintings are lovely & inspired. I would urge you to use a little more contrast relative to color, as you did here, or light to dark. I would guess this is difficult to do in watercolor? Please stay inspired with JRRT's works.Yes, achieving more contrast is indeed difficult with watercolours. Too many layers of colour often spoil a painting, I found.

I like this, as I do all your paintings, but as the book excerpt says, Frodo is supposed to look peaceful, and he still looks a bit troubled in this painting. Maybe curve the corners of his mouth up a bit? Do what you feel is best; as I've said before, it's your painting. But I think I can see your point. Thanks for the comment.

The colours in this painting are great. The hobbits stand out, because they're a softer tone than the background. I wish I could paint like that! ( I assume it's water colour?)Yes, it's indeed watercolour.

Wonderful picture. I really like the red leaves, and Sam looks great! I really like how attentive Sam is, and the clothing that the hobbits are wearing! Really nice, really nice job.
Frodo's belt is very well down. Thanks a lot.

This picture is so beautiful, it seams so peaceful. I love the look on Sama face, he looks so tired and worn out but happy to see Frodo still alive. Great piece of work, I wish I could draw like that!!!!!2Thank you.
