In the pits of Sauron Beren and Felagund lay, and all their companions were now dead; but Sauron purposed to keep Felagund to the last, for he perceived that he was a Noldo of great might and wisdom, and he deemed that in him lay the secret of their errand. But when the wolf came for Beren, Felagund put forth all his power, and burst his bonds; and he wrestled with the werewolf, and slew him with his hands and teeth; yet he himself was wounded to the death.

I'd like to comment this was a horrifically sad scene (what scene in the Silmarillion WASN'T sad?) and you illustrated it so beautifully. I adore the soft monotone of the picture offset by the blood of Finrod.. and Beren's positioning shows so much of anatomy knowledge. Gah.Thank you very much.

*cries so loud that people start to stare* This is really sad. Beautiful, but sad. You do seem to favor darker and less vibrant colors, don't you? That really adds a lot to this picture. Gee, I cry so much I should change my name to Nienna.Sorry to have made you want to cry 12

Thank you. For the courage it takes to draw one of the most powerful (and by far the saddest) moment of the Silmarilion. Just - thank you.And thank you for the comment.

And so, the obsessive Elf-loving artist girl cries her heart out, because of the incredibly sad picture. "HE WAS ONE OF MY PEOPLE!!!" She cries, and soaks her keyboard with her tears. She will not aknowledge the fact that she is not an Elf, or that she is possibley MORE abusive of her characters than Tolkien ever was. And so.. *nerrator gets thwacked over the head by an annoyed Erin*

Shut up, FOOL!! Anyways, I love this picture. Tragic pictures are just totally uber, and this rocks. I LOVE you style. Please pay no attention to the so-called "nerrator" XP. *goes back to soaking keyboard*

Wonderful! It is so powerful and tragic. I do admire your talent.

I like your artwork as much as I liked the scene. It is equally sad and just as beautiful.

(Hysterical sobbing)

Why??? Finrod was my favorite character!!!

I don't think I can capture such a tragic scene like you anytime soon. The blood looks great, but I imagined the wolf to be the size of a golf-cart. Back to my sketch book, then...
