'With another hop and a bound there came into view a man, or so it seemed. At any rate he was too large and heavy for a hobbit, if not quite tall enough for one of the Big People, though he made noise enough for one, stumping along with great yellow boots on his thick legs, and charging through grass and rushes like a cow going down to drink.'

J.R.R. Tolkien: 'The Lord of the Rings', Book 1, Chapter 6: The Old Forest

Although you have drawn him to be of hobbit of sorts or larger. He reminds me of the people who llive around the City I live. They are Hutterites. And such warm, freindly, open & farming folk. You took me back to them just with this picture. Thank you.

I must say I was just browsing top artwork list when I saw this and thought to myself "Tom Bombadil" before reading a description. You really captured him.

The one time I read Lord of the Rings, my favorite characters were Sam and Tom Bombadil. I love your picture of him!

Awesome!!! It was a shame that Tolkien didn’t write more about Tom Bombadil. Just his appearance in LOTR and two or three poems, I think. I was mad that he and Goldberry weren’t included in the movies.

Perfect. Simply perfect. Everything of this drawing looks like Tom Bombadil, just everything! You draw him exactly like I imagined him. He seems so trustworthy, warm and friendly, just like he appears to the hobbits.

Do you have prints of your work? I have this painting as my background (I hope you don’t mind), and I think you paint him as he should be -- undefinable.
