January 2008: It's been a long time since I last posted new art on Elfwood (or replied to comments). I do apologise. My absence here does not mean that I haven't created new artwork in the past years, nor that I don't read or appreciate comments. It's simply a question of time.

For those wishing to see my latest stuff (some of it Tolkien-inspired but also other subjects, like illustrations for Naomi Novik's "Temeraire"-series) can find the artwork on my website at www.anke.edoras-art.de. Usually, it's fairly up to date.

If you'd like to comment on any of the new pieces not posted here on Elfwood, do drop me an email. The same if you're interested in commissioning artwork or buying things – there is a shop at the website, too, where prints, postcards, t-shirts and even some original pieces can be acquired. Just follow the red dragon symbol in the navigation bar

That said, I still hope to find some time to post new artwork here on Elfwood soon. And perhaps even reply to comments ... I promise to better myself. ;)

Wow, I am very impressed, not only with your exceptional watercoloring skills, but also your wonderful imagination of Lord of the Rings scenes. I am also a great fan of Lord of the Rings, I was brought up on those books along with the hobbit. I think the first time my Mom read them to me I was 4 years old, and I have read and re-read them many times since. We actually read them out loud and taped them as a family, so I listen to them as well. I really really like your rendering of scenes in the book, I know them all very well and your artwork captures these moments perfectly. Very wonderful work, keep it up. One small note, I notice you don’t really have an landscape scenes. I would be very interested to see your rendering of places like Rivendell, Lorien, and Minas Tirith.
