| 24 Dec 2003 | A.R. George | Loading...Wow! I've -finally- come for a visit to my fellow Aussie's gallery (only two months late! yay!), and I'm stunned! I absolutely love your colours. All your pictures are jumpy and vibrant and you have an amazing eye for detail. The Japanese crane girl is definitely my favourite. Let me know when you update this gallery here, and I'll revisit with a little more speed next time! Oh, and merry Christmas! Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "And I've finally gotten around to replying to said visit (only a month late! woo!) =D Thank you so much for your comment! Will prolly update it when this merger thing's happened, until then, scribble (bloogum.net/scribble) will suffice, since that updates whenever I draw something. Thanks again! Happy New Year to you too!" | |
| 24 Dec 2003 | Andrew | Loading...Your pictures are so miraculous and colorful and bright! Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "Oooh~ miraculous, I like that **^^** Thanks muchly for your comment Andrew!" | |
| 3 Apr 2004 | ´Disco´ Vic Alfieri | Loading...Well hello there, i have come to view your piccies, and well may i say, you have some more talent hidden away here on your sf&f gallery, very cool pics the lot of them, i haven't looked at the bigger versions of some of them yet, but what i have looked at (especially the muses at chrissy time) are very cool, very cool indeed, anyway, i have heaped enough praise on people tonight and shall now make my hasty exit before i become entrenched in elfwood forever..... Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "I love my little muses *^^* Need to draw them more often, I do. Thanks for stopping by! I know how easy it is to get stuck here XD;" | |
| 7 May 2004 | A.R. George | Loading...Wow ... some gorgeous updates here (you never said!)! In particular I absolutely love your Raykinian goddesses - the fire-goddess's hair is stunning! - and your proud little desert lad ... oh, and the evil winged man's boots. All of him, really, but especially the boots. Cute and evil boots. Whoo. Yay for talent + Photoshop! XD Oh, and I should just let you know that one of your very kind comments in my gallery was actually number 300 for me ... no new car for a prize, unfortunately, but you do get a piece of writing by me valued at $0.00. ;P I left a few ideas in my answer to your comment back in my gallery, if you're not sure what you'd like. So let me know! And thanks again for visiting! Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "I did? Score~! Lesee, what would I like? I've never had anything written for me... It's hard coming up with story ideas for my own writing, let alone someone elses XD;;; I'll ponder for a few days and email you ^^ Out of curiosity, have you by any chance read any of my stuff? Just so I don't go asking you to write a character you don't know at all ^^;
Thankies for the compliments as well! I swear I'd notified you of the updates, but obviously not. My memory 0wnz. Anyway, yus, I love my iccle goddesses *^^* Yan would so kill you if he heard you calling his boots cute XDDD"
| 16 Sep 2004 | Passing mouse | Loading...Anyway, just some things you might be able to improve on; your body postures, compared to mine, are amazing, phenomenal (hope I spelled that right), fantastic, spectacular, and amazing! Only for some of your pictures, the body parts don't seem to go together, like seperately they work, but as a whole there's something awkward to them. (This is only for some of your pictures...your later ones I've noticed are better, so now I'm wondering why I'm telling you this, but what the heck ) Yes! I'm getting better! Slowly ^^; Thankuu for that =D So there's that, and there's the faces. The shape of the faces tend to be a bit...odd, if there's a word to describe it without using more criticalness (if that's a word) than necessary. It's to do with the length of the nose, where the mouth is placed relate to the nose and the chin, and the overall shape. But the thing about the face you might be able to work on the most is where you place the eyes. For instance, in a profile of a character, the eyes tend to be closer to the ears while they should be almost next to the bridge of the nose. Also, from a side view, the eyes wouldn't be as full (like you wouldn't be able to see all of it). You would normally only be able to see half of the eye, and then it would resemble more of a tilted triangle, if you know what I mean I've been kinda experimenting with eyes in new sketches. Thanks for the advice with that tho, will definitely use that ^^ So that's basically it for the critism. Hope it helps you. Now, of course, time for the compliments! I know you've heard this before, and I'll just say it again; I LOVE LOVE the way you draw bodies. I think, also, that basing the pose on a live photo is a really smart idea, and it really does help the picture. Never underestimate the power of photo references X3 Your backgrounds for the pictures are splendid and detailed, something I never have patience for, and the time and effort creates such a beautiful effect. I think it's the Art prac last year that's been forcing me to do more backgrounds now. There's something to be said for making you do that many A3 piccies so detailed in such a short time XD;; You work well with light versus shadow, especially on the hair (again, repeating things already said before). Oooh, the hair XD it's so pretty the way you draw it! It looks so real! You really bring out the texture, which is wonderful. Here's another piece of advice; try to bring out the texture in other objects, tables, cups, clothingit makes that beautiful crop of hair less out of place amid gentle hues and soft edges This is the tutorial I've based my hair on, by my vera good friend Xellie *^^* Only she does it with a tablet and it's therefore sessier =P Well, sorry about this extra long comment ^^ just had a lot of things to say about your work. Keep up the wonderful drawing! Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "Why do people always appologise for leaving long comments? XD; I love long comments, tell you so much more than a one ot two word comment =P Thankuu~!" | |
| 16 Sep 2004 | Passing mouse | Loading...Hello Annarti! Finally decided that after reading so many of your stories, and looking at so many of your pictures, it's about time to post a comment here (though of course this one is going to be about your art ;P). I have to say that out of all of the Elfwood artists that I've seen, you are the one I keep coming back to. Too bad you haven't uploaded anything new for a while! I keep looking for updates, but I guess I just have to wait a little longer. Can't wait though! Your style of drawing is actually very similar to mine, and I enjoy your pictures immensely! I know, been busy with uni and stuff, haven't really had time/been in the mood for colouring a full pic. Plenty of random uni sketches, but nothing really concrete for a while. Near~ly the end of the year tho, then summer hollies *^^* Sorry if after that friendly (or what I hope will strike you as being friendly ) paragraph, this seems very critical. Just wanted to leave some of my comments/advice here. You don't have to use them, after all, they're only comments and not orders ok, the thing is telling me that there's way too many words in here...I'm going to split it up to be continued Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "I love critical, be as critical as you like XD" | |
| 1 Oct 2004 | Maxime Goffeau | Loading...Hello there *waves back* I like your work! Its nice to know that you're from Adelaide too... what suburb are you from? | 24 Jan 2005 | A.R. George | Loading...Well, once again I operated within my own very special timeframe (blue moon-based), but I finally made it here - and I'm glad that I did! Your 'Small World' pictures were just gorgeous. My favourite was Kazin: shiny colour! I'm definitely under 10 years old in mental terms. Pfft, as if a 10-year-old could write the stuff you do XD Every time I come here your pictures seem to be evolving into something better, which is pretty impressive considering the level they're already at! Keep at it! ;D Anna 'Annarti' Thomas replies: "*sparkles summore* I love getting your comments *^^*
And yaknow what? This~ is comment 100 =DD So if you'd like a picci done for your prize, let me know and you should see it in the next coupla months. If you're lucky. Possibly looking at 2007 tho =3;; Congrats, Alyssa =DD"
