SciFi and Fantasy Art The Lunar Voyage by Anneke de Rooij

I plan on drawing a sortof opposite to go with this one. Another Moon Ship, but the sky will be a bleak grey instead of pretty purple, and the ship may be a pirate ship? haven't decided yet. This was all done on compyter paper and my mum's good artists' pencils. Actually, i was quite proud of this one, but i don't think the scanner did the colours justice. Hmph! And that big patch of clear sky took ages. The colours kept getting uneven, and...yeah. I think it turned out okay in the end, though. p.s. i got the idea for this by looking at the moon, and then i absent-mindedly remembered that poem 'The Highwayman' where it mentions something like 'The moon was a ghostly galleon, tossed on cloudy seas.' Did you guess?

5 Jan 2003	Ruth E. Steinback	Loading... This is really nice, I like the colours you used. It seems a bit more serene to me than the line you mentioned but there's nothing wrong with that! I agree that this would make a wonderful illustration to a childrens story.

10 Apr 2006	MJ	Loading... WOW! That's an amazing perception of that line. 'The Highwayman' has to be one of my favorite poems and to see someone take a simple line like that and turn it into an amazing picture, I'm speechless. The colors are gorgeous and all the shading is amazing. But the 'moon' ship itself is definetly my favorite. The creativety of it is wonderful.
