Hello.  I'm just going to use this space to spurt some random stuff about my art and why I do what I do.  I'm an extremely shy person, always a wall-flower who just likes to go unnoticed.  People may think I'm a bit creepy, but that's okay.  I enjoy the simple things in life, and I've realized over the years that the best way to do so is to be in the shadows and out of view.  I enjoy being cold and my favorite season is winter.  What that has to do with anything as far as my interest in art I don't know, so let's get to that.  My most favorite art genre is Fantasy, as one is able to create any image in their head and put it down onto paper, give it emotion, give it shape and form, and ultimately bring that cloudy, twisted picture in your mind to life.  While the main focus of my art tends to be elves of some sort (partially due to my current obsession with World of Warcraft), I do draw the occasional knight or dragon or fairy...or whatever.  So yeah, in any case, I hope you find my art inspiring, well done, or at least, if nothing else, amusing and entertaining to look at.

I would also like to, just as a side note, mention that I have an earlier gallery in Elfwood which I can no longer log in to.  I have forgotten the login username, the password, and my e-mail since then has changed numerous times.  So, I decided instead of drudging through hours of FAQ's and support forums, and after countless e-mails of correspondence to get my old account back up and running, that I would simply creat a new one.  I am quite surprised by the improvement over a single year (or a year and a half...details), and perhaps you all will be, too.  I still have a hard time adding color to my drawings in fear of ruining them for the rest of time, but I will most definitely try experimenting with some programs, and hopefully I can get some colored stuff up eventually.  Anyway, here is a link to my old gallery, if you're interested at all in seeing my old work and evaluating any progression I have since then made.  http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/d/e/derikscott/derikscott.html
