SciFi and Fantasy Art Radha and Krishna by A. Anthony

When I drew this two years ago I had just recently heard the story of Radha and Krishna. Then, in my Creative Writing class, we had to find a picture in the art gallery and write a poem about it. I went through the entire gallery, and one of the last sections I got to was Asian art, and when I saw the picture there, I couldn't resist. Then we had to make a chapbook, and I wanted to have some illustrations. Couldn't find a copy of the picture I had seen online, so I decided to draw my own version. Needless to say, I was pretty bad at proportion back then and it was my first attempt to color with photoshop. I'm considering reworking it if I ever find time, so any critiques are welcome.

Anthony replies: "Thank you ...I know I was supposed to add lots of bangles, necklaces, anklets, etc. but I ran out of time that night after doing the basics ...But I did look at a lot of pics on the net as reference before I attempted my own pic, so that’s how I got the colors right ...But now I’m really tempted to rework the pic since my ability has greatly improved (I hope) since this attempt "

16 May 2008	Anon.	Loading... Hare Krsna...great painting! Lord Sri Krsna wears a peakock feather,peakocks are very dear to him.Maybe Srimati Radhika could have a dot,as she is married. I dont know if she ever left her hair open...unless she was in sooooo much ecstatic love she forgot to,hehehe. please do more art like this,it is very inspiring. Thanx

31 May 2011	Jeanette M Thomas	Loading... Forgive me, but Krishna looks sort of perplexed and pensive - Sort of like the Disney Aladin. A. Anthony replies: "Nothing to forgive, that was actually my intent when I drew this, it was supposed to accompany a poem I wrote that talked about Krishna’s nature as an incarnation of a god, and his very human relationship with Radha. I’m glad some of the emotion is conveyed, considering how long ago I drew this and how bad I was at drawing human faces back then (still have a long way to go though, wish me luck )"
