This is beautiful! I love the colors and her face. Her hair is really great, too. Wonderful job.

This is a lovely picture I love the elaborate border. If I could make one small suggestion her neck and where her collarbone would be seem a little flat as all white.

I just wish i could read German (I assume it is German please don't shout at me if it isn't).

:-) Antje Schaalmeier replies: "Well, it is german. It´s a quotation from Gottfried´s medieval novel `Tristan´ and I can translate it for you: "As they were that near/ to Cornwall/that they could see this country quite well/they were all happy about that/they all where very glad/all but Tristan and Isolde/they both were terribly frightened/their will was/ never to see land anymore." Well, not very poetical, but that´s what it means... "

I think she's great. I mean, personally she isn't how I might have imagined Iseult/Yseult (or whatever) But overall she is really beautiful. And plus I can't draw at all so I shouldn't talk.

Iseult

"Crystal notes he sang to me,
With deeds so brave my heart he won.
A knight at arms, a bard in love.
That is King Ban's son.

From distant lands he came to me,
An injury to mend.
And I did heal him with my heart
and he my heart did rend.

Blue as the sea where the eagles fly,
Grey as the mountains above.
White as the foam at the foot of the cliff,
Gone is my true love.

He was sent to bring me here
Unto this far off land.
And so to Cornwall I did sail
To wed another man.

Born out of sorrow was my love
and sorrow he brings to me.
For I will love him with my life
But this love shall never be."

I love this picture. I love the story of Iseult. Thought you might like to read the song from a band I used to go to see.

:-) Antje Schaalmeier replies: "Thank you very much."

one of my favorite tales ever. You captured her elegance and an air of wistfullnes, sadness very well. Lovely detail.
