It could happen to everyone. Really. And even a badass dark wizard sometimes can find himself involved in a most romantic 'balcony scene'.
The wizard's name is Zmeifen, and he is a half-drow and a bad guy, hated and feared by everyone. The lady here is a daughter of one of the lords who thinks that it's better to join forces with the evil mage, than to find himself confronting him; still, he is not very comfortable with his decision. His daughter, however, is very (and secretly) happy about her dad's hesitations, because the most fascinating person she'd ever met - the dark wizard - is now visiting their castle time to time to check on the reluctant ally...
It's all very sweet, but naturally, a happy ending here is impossible. Even if they'd get married. Especially if they'd get married...

Wonderful colors and composition. You've captured this fairy tale scene wonderfully.

Sorry about the double post, but i wanted to comment on the close too, but its not hosted in such fashion2

I love the detail of their jewelry, the need for a closeup of these two is well justified with such meticulous attention to their finery. But what im really taken with is that vine you'v used as a boarder. Is it just because its night time, or are the leafs and stalks actually black? As soon as i saw it on the larger version of this picture, creeping up the balcony, my imagination lite up with the idea of some exoticaly rare plant known only to the dark elfs, (created by them maybe?)which is black rather than green with flowers of deep purple that become poisonous at night. Once it takes root it spreads at a frightening rate and kills all other plants it comes into contact with. Perhaps Zmeifen gave his hosts a cutting of it as a "gift". The more i think of it, the more i like the idea. All i need now is a name for it....any ideas?

P.S
Thanks for the inspiration, and sorry for ramble 12

Yet another excellent scene. The world your characters exist in looks such a lush one. Not such how i get that feel, but i do. I know iv said this times before, but your characters are always dress so well. Rich and bold but always tasteful. Zmeifen's outfit has the flamboyant, yet restrained design i always imagine any elf garments to have, and i love the rich dark purple of the lady's gown.

I like the way you'v used the pillars of the balcony to frame the scene, and the detail in those pillars gives the impression that this is a very impressive castle. Dose it over the sea? The mermaid details lead me to think this, and if im right, its a stroke of genius on your part. I love that kind of attention to detail, its what brings well made fantasy off the page for me.

Wow i have never seen such a detailed and life like picture. you should really think about working for a movie director because if he needed a balcony scene you would be the one to make it a master piece.
i have never been on this sight before but now that i have i cant help but coming back and looking at all the amazing pictures.
keep up the great work.
