But what im really taken with is that vine you'v used as a boarder. Is it just because its night time, or are the leafs and stalks actually black? As soon as i saw it on the larger version of this picture, creeping up the balcony, my imagination lite up with the idea of some exoticaly rare plant known only to the dark elfs, (created by them maybe?)which is black rather than green with flowers of deep purple that become poisonous at night. Once it takes root it spreads at a frightening rate and kills all other plants it comes into contact with. Perhaps Zmeifen gave his hosts a cutting of it as a "gift". The more i think of it, the more i like the idea. All i need now is a name for it....any ideas? P.S Thanks for the inspiration, and sorry for ramble

I know iv said this times before, but your characters are always dress so well. Rich and bold but always tasteful. Zmeifen's outfit has the flamboyant, yet restrained design i always imagine any elf garments to have, and i love the rich dark purple of the lady's gown.
I like the way you'v used the pillars of the balcony to frame the scene, and the detail in those pillars gives the impression that this is a very impressive castle. Dose it over the sea? The mermaid details lead me to think this, and if im right, its a stroke of genius on your part. I love that kind of attention to detail, its what brings well made fantasy off the page for me.
