*lurks behind the tree, the only other living soul
in this place forgotten by them all, looking at the colours of the "chicken soup" get bright
under a nightsky bright
with stars, delight
enters her mind
but the witch is not blind
- a red-hair flicker
behind a tree
darker than brown and thicker
than two men, a girl
stand in a swirl
of shiny moonlight
watching without fright*

-I`ve been spotted! *I think to myself*
-Come, girl, come, fox!

And ever since that date
I have this very fate:
a fox I have been
every night since
HALLOWEEN!

p.s. A bad witch I haven`t seen
- only I shouldn`t`ve been
as curious as to sit there and wonder
when the souls are gonna come out and eat
now at dark I wander
with furry red coat and four fast little feet.

This is really lovely! The silhouettes of the ravens are perfect, and I love the effect of the mist swirling all around.

Do you ever use your art to make holiday cards (or just regular notecards) or postcards? I think your designs would work brilliantly that way.

OOh ooh an update! I've been busy lately so hadn't seen this...so far...
Amazing details, It's like...ALL those pumpkins and the ravens rock! (I love ravens and crows) And the candles and leaves... and the colours... In one word: BEAUTIFUL!

Anya, this is simply magnificent! Definitely one your best, and your work is all wonderful. The way in which you've combined the colours is magical. All the wonderful witchy symbolism adds so much to this picture. The ravens are a splendid touch - I love ravens and crows with a passion, have an incredible story about one of my recent ancestors, presumed to be a witch, who could summon crows, but that's another story. Everything about this picture is perfect.

Chicken soup...? I am sure I wouldn't touch that soup. But then I am not a dead soul. Maybe they prefer their chicken soup green, bubbly and slightly glowing.
