Zmeifen is a young half-elf of the prevalent elven (drow) blood, who was always been mistreated by the people everywhere just because of his all-black appearance. With his knowledge of healing and a simple witchcraft, learned from his half-elf mother, he was looking for his place in life, and find non on a good-guys side. So he turned to the dark crafts, and was pleasantly surprised by how easy the dark magic was coming to him. In a few short years he became a powerful dark wizard, a lord of a quite impressive creepy black castle (which he 'inherited' from his teacher, a beautiful evil sorceress, after the bringing her down).
His favorite element to work with is Fire, as you can see; he enjoys his power upon it enormously.

The inscription round the circle is reading: 'mystery-Fire Fire-mystery' in Theban letters (also known as the Witches Alphabet or the Runes of Honorius). The two characters inside the star are my initials 'AK' in the same alphabet. The picture was drawn with a mouse in Macromedia FreeHand11, 2006. Unfortunately, transforming to jepeg format had almost killed it:((

I love the skin tone you'v used on this character, i think dark elves look better with skin in the greyish spectrum rather than just jet black, though i do realise he is a full Drow. That skull on his table looks great, and i really love the way the candles are flaring up more than they natrualy should under the influence of his magic. Excellent work on his outfit too. Yes, I also think that the drow looks better with the skin tones of the shades of gray, at least on the pictures It's hard to color skin in jet black and make it look natural, and the dark-brownish tones that some artists are using , remind me more of africans than of the drow) Glad that you have noticed the candles! I thought that when the Fire magic is taking place, all the flames in the area must "feel" it... You have a great eye for such details. Thank again!"

This picture definitely deserves the 'award' -- The color scheme is great (the vivid fire shades really stand out from the gray background), the sense of symmetry and balance is very nice, and the details (as always!) are terrific! 19 May 2006	Norma Peters	Loading... I just realized that on my last visit, I neglected to leave a comment on this gorgeous work. I love the dramatic contrast in this picture - The flame colours look so rich and vibrant with the more muted tones. The symmetry really lends a lot of interest to the piece. There is a sense of elegant and sombre dignity to the figure of Lord Zmeifen. This is a well-deserved Mods' Choice. I also think that all those dignified postures and expressions are natural for him, without even exercising in front of a mirror... at least I hope so) I didn't expect to get a mod's choice, and I was pleasantly surprised - mostly not because it was my own work, but because a vector-based program made picture finally got a mod's choice"
