Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Ah, thank you so much, Jenny, you are too kind... *blushes* I am glad that you like this one, cause it's my own new favorite too "

I also like the view out the window! Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Thank you so much! It was fun to do the tapestry, and I kind of like the way it turned to be, though of course the color scheme that I gave to my version of it, has little to do with it of the original one )"

Which is difficult to grasp in some ways as i think your style and choice of subject matter always seem impecable. Although there isnt really much going on in this picture, its brilliance is in its execution, (he says at the risk of sounding Pretentous, which ironicly he's unsure how to spell.) In a word: Detail. Ok, the centre figure looks great, wonderful dress, excellent choice of colours (Red and purple being two of my favourits). And the way you'v put a shine to her hair is excellent. I wish id come here before id spent ages trying to figure how to get Lumi's hair to shine But of all these details, birds in tree-pentagram on the floor-herbs hung at the window and of course that beautiful tapestry. The thing i love most is that little table sat below the tapestry. I mean no disservice to any other part of the picture, but the way the items are arranged in a just used and almost cluttered way makes the whole scene come to life. It makes this world we are looking in on look lived in. Real. I know this seems an over long rant for something that most would find so trivial, but for me, thats the soul of this picture, and the core of what we all as fantasy artists are trying to do. Create the feel of another world. You do it so well and i envy and admire it in the nicest possable ways Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Ah, thank you so much for the great compliment, Jay! I am really glad that you like this picture, cause it's my own latest favorite too. I have always been fascinated with the character, and not only because of the Arthurian legends, but also because all the interpretations that so many great authors and artists gave her. I was planning to do a picture of Morgan for ages, and finally I think I found the composition that expresses my idea of her. Glad that you have noticed all the details, especially those of the little table... I spent some tome trying to give it a natural "in use" look, though it was not that hard: from my personal experience, a working space of a witch is a messy place, even if it's also her altar And the dress - how I wish to have one like this!... a pity that the detailed Moon accent jewelry is lost on the picture of this size/resolution, I'd love to have it too ) Thank you again, your comments are always very inspiring! I have myself an idea to divert the "lady and the unicorn" serial, but I have not the courage : it needs a lot of details... You had it. And colors are beautiful. Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Thank you for visiting and your kind words. Oh, I think that you can do a beautiful "lady and the unicorn" series; such series should be done in the most enchanted colors, and you are so good at creating the atmosphere with colors! "
| 2 May 2006 | Norma Peters | Loading...She is absolutely splendid - so dignified. Everything about her is exactly as it should be, from her strong, magnificent face, to the rich tones of her robe. As always, the little details in your picture lend such a richness. The unicorn tapestry was an inspired touch! Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Thank you very much for your kind words, Norma! Still, your version of Morgan - a quintessence of everything "dark" and feminine - is unbeatable! " | |
| 28 Jun 2006 | Jade N. Bengco | Loading...Still another of my favs, Anya! The colors, background, the regal bearing of Morgan, the glow of the fire under her unusual 'spell cooking' vessel--oh, well! What can I say--just a totally excellent portrayal of King Arthur's half-sister! Love it! Hey--maybe, you can do King Arthur as a counterpoint to this one? Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Thank you so much, Jade! I am very happy to hear that you like the picture, I also rather like it. King Arthur... you know, I am planning a pictures of him for years, but somehow I never was able to think of the right concept for it... But you are right, this picture of Morgan could make a nice diptych with a King Arthur picture, or even triptych: Morgan-King Arthur-Sir Mordred... Wow, it looks like a cool idea, I definitely should give it a good thought. Thanks again! " | |

(I kinda Thought she was a blonde but still,)Keep up the great work! Anya Žbroom riderŽ Kholodova replies: "Thank you. Hehe, don't be freaked out ) I choose for Morgan classic dark witch appearance: pale skin, high cheekbones, raven hair, green eyes. I love this type, and I have always imagine Morgan like this (Hey, you can join the artists and make a blond version of he - I'd love to see it "
