I'd like to see more of these, you are able to make the line and color work very well on this. Rock on. Thank you very much; I am glad you like it! I have some more of oriental-style pictures, but I am afraid that they are not exactly fantasy stuff and are not suitable for Lothlorien gallery…

Yes, I know the feeling… Thanks for stopping by and commenting

| 14 Feb 2006 | Evgenia P. Petkova aka Foxy Jenny | Loading...Don`t be afraid, little one! *toad jumps in her hand* In Western (catholic) culture toads are a symbol of money and wealth, by the way. Though I think it`s meant in the bad way. Anya ´broom rider´ Kholodova replies: "Thank you! Yeah, us post-christian europeans definitely have something wrong with symbolism: toads and frogs are bad, dragons are bad, spiders are bad... shows us not from the wise side, huh? " | |
| 28 Jun 2006 | Jade N. Bengco | Loading...Great oriental-style painting, Anya! Love the subject matter--love the Toad--a real cutie! Simple, yet really makes a statement. Do you know about the 'good luck toad' that a lot of Asian people, particularly the Chinese-- have in their homes? It's suppose to be a 3-legged toad sitting on a pile of coins or bags of money. These are placed facing the entry door coming in to a home or office or studio--to bring in good luck! I'm not sure why 3-legged--but, all the ones I've seen are definitely without one hind leg. Hope to see more soon! Anya ´broom rider´ Kholodova replies: "Thank you very much! He-he yes, I know this lovely symbolic figure in Feng Shui. It has a coin in it's mouth, too. I've hear that the legend says that the three-legged toad goes out at night and brings money back to your home. Toads and frogs are so cool! )" | |
