	You can often meet toads in oriental art and mythology. In China toads are sign of longevity and wealth; in Japan, the mythical sage Gamma Senin is depicted with a toad on his shoulder… Chinese painters such as Xie Chufang (IVX century) loved this subject, and I love it too:)

28 Jun 2006	Jade N. Bengco	Loading... Great oriental-style painting, Anya! Love the subject matter--love the Toad--a real cutie! Simple, yet really makes a statement. Do you know about the 'good luck toad' that a lot of Asian people, particularly the Chinese-- have in their homes? It's suppose to be a 3-legged toad sitting on a pile of coins or bags of money. These are placed facing the entry door coming in to a home or office or studio--to bring in good luck! I'm not sure why 3-legged--but, all the ones I've seen are definitely without one hind leg. Hope to see more soon! Anya ´broom rider´ Kholodova replies: "Thank you very much! He-he yes, I know this lovely symbolic figure in Feng Shui. It has a coin in it's mouth, too. I've hear that the legend says that the three-legged toad goes out at night and brings money back to your home. Toads and frogs are so cool!)"
