A story of awakening.

Dragon Dream

In the night I heard his song.

A lament beyond time.

His sad tunes touched my heart

while I was sleeping,

saying "fear not child, I am not a dream".

My slumber shattered with his voice.

The mighty lord of dragons,

the eternal,

the forgotten.

His words to me sang as a church bell,

sothing and strong.

So strange and yet,

so known.

"Fear not Selfling, you will be free

to roam the stars,

to rule your kingdom again,

to be by my side and rule the night.

Once more selfling,

You will be the wings of the wind worthy".

He streched out and touched me

with his warm claw, comforting and loving.

My skin started to quiver

and my thoughts to spin.

My body faded away,

my mind and my soul

was released

from their prison of flesh.

I was once again

Free.

Free to return home.

Awesome poem I especially liked "You will be the wings of the wind worthy" Very cool dialogue and imagery, I enjoyed it a lot, and I felt the ending was very satisfactory. I think, at the beginning, that "tune" didn't exactly fit the mood that had been established...Perhaps melody or another equivalent word would be more effective? And also, "my mind and my soul was released" should be "were released." Other than that, I thought it was great

14 Jan 2005	Katie Collishaw	Loading... very interesting. NOw, I can't write poems for anything but.. I think that your rhythm is off sometimes.. But, that's me a non-poem writer person... But, if I'm write (which could happen) you should try to work on that. But I really liked the imagery.
