Just thought I'd put this up for thoughts and comments ... it's an unfinished work. My plan is to make a 3-Panel artpiece depicting 9 Valkyries. Each of the panels will be able to stand on its own artwise ... but when the three panels are placed together side-by-side, it will make one big piece. When this one (it's the middle panel) is finished, there will be three Valkyries holding various weapons. One of the side panels will have 3 Valkyries riding on their winged horses (I did read on one account where Valkyries were also depicted on riding on giant wolves in the battlefield ... I thought that would be pretty cool to illustrate) and the final panel will have 3 Valkyries changing/morphing into 1 of 3 animals (wolf, swan and a raven). Currently, I'm unhappy with her hands ... I will be redrawing that portion and add it in at a later date. This project will take awhile to complete ... I figure about 6-7 months.

who would want to die and then have valky-whatevers looking like they dont want u? Make the expressions more inviting. But it is still good!

A very nice picture! I like the Valkyrie-topic (that's why you can find some Valkyries on my page here in the Woods), and this two shield maidens look great! The background with the Celtic knots must have been a lot of work. The fact that you consider this "unfinished" makes the picture even better.

I like that each Valkyrie has different design touches: pendants, bracers, torso armor, weapons, helmets, etc. I also like their "meh" expressions. A shame you never finished the third valkyrie - you could have had a tryptich with just those three!

I REALLY like them, however, you should make the fingers on the left Valkyrie less rounded. Otherwise this is FANTASTIC art with the body form, keep going! Do you already have a Loki one? I LOVE the goddess Loki!
