Welcome to my shelf! New people who want to know more about the intricacies of my fascinating life, read on! People who know me, and know what a load of nonsense that bit about my fascinating life is, you might want to just skip down to the update sections ;-)
Well, you're reading this, so I'm assuming you want to know more about...me! I work as a technical writer for the military (scary, eh?). No don't ask, I can't talk about it. No really. Okay, you asked, now I have to kill you.
I have an adorable 10-year-old boy who is soon to become dictator of the world. Or maybe a computer game programmer. (Now that he's older, he's not taking my recommendation of career paths as seriously as I'd hoped. *sigh*) I now live in a house near the Great Salt Lake, and any rain or snow we get is full of salt, which makes the cows and car wash people very happy.
Those are the highlights! *grins* Now, go read! And leave comments. Lots of comments.
Updates on life: Why have I disappeared from Elfwood, you wonder? Well, I really haven't. See, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, for the last 9 months, I have been working on a novel under contract (yay!) The bad news is, with all my creative energy going to a real live novel, I haven't had time to write for Elfwood. And I probably won't for another few months.
But I love and appreciate all the comments and encouragement! I promise, cross my heart and hope to kiss a troll, that I will be back with updates as soon as I can. Most requested is the "Illusions" series, so that will come first, followed by more Viking fun in "Ragnarok."
Updates on shelf: Forthcoming (see above).
A Quick Summary of my shelf, for those of you who like to know what you're getting yourselves into before you click:
- My novels - What happens after the end of the world? At least, if you're a Viking? Following Ragnarok goes into great detail answering this question that has obviously plagued mankind for so long. Fair warning: this was conceived when I was rather grouchy after four failed NaNoWriMo attempts. Thus, it is a bit darker than much of my work.</li>
- My short stories - Singing Sunrise for those who ponder the meaning of life, Between Spirit and Dust for those that ponder the meaning of death, and Only at Night for those who would rather not ponder but shiver with fear *mwah ha ha* Fire Moon is a rather random cross between scifi and fantasy. If you like dragons, you can choose between Lounge Lizard (silly) and Snow Moon (very short, with an illustration). Oh, and Equinox. Meh.</li>
- A random sentence pretending to be a link (just for kicks and giggles). Ow, not those kind of kicks!</li>
As always, please leave lots of feedback on any and all stories. I'm part lizard. See? Thick-skinned. Can't hurt me (unless you're really nasty, at which point I'll dig down into my dragon heritage and burn you to a crisp *heh heh*).
Coming Attractions:
- The conclusion of "Beyond Illusions"</li>
- Additional chapters of Following Ragnarok.</li>
Links to people whose work I admire and/or worship:
- Alison Guynes (The Ghost Mommy!) - The writer who, through example, convinced me to join Elfwood. If you haven't read her story Twisted Truths, you are missing out on an Elfwood legend :-)</li>
- Jim Bowers - The great and powerful wizard of...wait, no...the creator of the Herscher Project! Such a fun idea. Of course, it's unfair that he has cool writing ideas, cool groupies, and talent. But whatcha gonna do? *grin*</li>
- Andrea Heny - Wow. That's all I can say. I recommend "The Blue Moth" (a short story) and her novel, "Chronicle of a Monster." If you want examples of how to write dialect or create characters, you need to visit Andrea. I'm suitably jealous ;-)</li>
- Sandra Leigh Wagner - I admit it, I'm addicted. I have read nearly everything on her shelf and am waiting impatiently for more updates. Sandra is a published author, and it shows. Be sure to buy her books from Amazon and support a local author made good!</li>
- Suzanne Collins - I love a good romance! And when you mix unrequited love with mystery, magic, and murderous villains, you get "Powers That Divide." So go read it already! You know you want to. Guilty pleasures are allowed in Elfwood (as long as they're only rated PG-13 *grins*).</li>
- Hannah Ashley - Hannah is writing a vampire/werewolf/etc story that I actually like (*gasp* I know, but it's good). When you visit, read "The Demon's Lodge". The characters are great, and her authorial voice is very strong.</li>
- Lindsay Verde - Instructions: click on her link and read "Desert Rose." Then click on her link to me. Then click on my link to her. Then...(*grins* I caught you in a never-ending link circle! Bwah ha ha!).</li>
- Ray Arquette - Already notorious in Elfwood for her wonderful prose and sidesplitting characterization, her dragon Fearchar is the cutest thing on the planet (next to my son, of course *grin*).</li>
- Jodie Kirk - Out of all the art I've discovered on Elfwood, I keep returning to hers. In her own personal style, she draws beautiful anthros (yes, I like furries!) with so much feeling and personality. My current favorites are the elemental maidens--they're so pretty!</li>
- I will be adding others as I seek them out in these enormous woods!</li></li>
I've moved these people to my "inactive but still deserving of a linkie" list, and wait in hope for them to return! Keith Brooks, Tom Solomons, Lisa Hardy Coleman

I was wondering if I could write about her or who do I need to contact? Angela Perry replies: "Not quite sure what you’re talking about here. Doesn’t sound like anything I’ve written..."

| 14 Oct 2009 | Mariposa Gollery | Loading...Ah, the writing of the novels-if you do get published, tell me what to look for? I’m curious! Angela Perry replies: "Believe it or not, it’s a Western called Gun Man. I took a contract to novelize a screenplay. If it had been something I actually enjoy, like fantasy or scifi, I would have been done months ago lol" | |
| 27 Oct 2009 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *comes in squealing* I finally just read your updated blurb about your life and CONGRATS! I’m so excited and happy for you to hear you’re under contract for a novel! When it’s finished you have to let me know and I shall be the first to run over and pick up a copy! I’m dying to find out what it’s about! *huggles and glomps galore* Angela Perry replies: "Aw, thanks! I don’t recommend reading it though. First off, it’s a Western. Secondly, it’s not very good, I don’t think. I’m not even planning on signing my name to it...I came up with a pen name just special for this project It should be out sometime after the first of the year, though, if you decide you want to wade through it anyway." | |
| 2 Nov 2009 | Lindsay Verde | Loading...Thanks again for the mod! Angela Perry replies: "Of course!" | |
| 8 Nov 2009 | Judith Ahonen | Loading...Hello, how’s it going with your novel?
And yes, before you ask I do have an ulterior motive. Because as soon as you are finished with the novel you are going to continue with your elfwood stories, righ? *insert a wery innocent expression here*
