I have lately noticed that all the elves seem to be generally the same - but have no fear, I am here to shake things up a little.

I mean, come on, guys, there has to be a little diversity in the elven race! Sheesh, people. =3 This goes with my other portrait, Elves with Glasses.

Done during my portrait class with model, charcoal on grey paper (hugs grey paper - it rocks so much more than regular charcoal paper), bit less than four hours.

I agree and have done a couple of racially diverse elves myself. The contours and shading are excellent. Nice work with the charcoal, not an easy medium to control.

I know this thread is old, but this piece is AWESOME. We’ve been recently discussing the topic of diversity and variety in Fantasy and SciFi art at ConceptArt.org, and many people understand the problem, but some people are real JERKS about it. It’s so cool to see an artist such as yourself, who has their eyes open...
