Everyone always depicts her as angry but I would think she would be feeling sad instead. She didn't ask to become a monster and everyone she looks at turns to stone making it impossible for her to even really be around people. I'm sure she was angry about it also, but the loneliness more would have been a much stonger feeling in my opinion.

I might have gotten the legen wrong since I remeber reading about it somewhere but don’t remember where, but the movie is called Voyage Of The Unicorn.

Also, I read about the legend of how Medusa came to be (I believe you’re right) off Wikipedia, and it said that Medusa and Poseidon slept together in Athena’s temple which enraged Athena and turned Medusa into a monster, but in some versions of this legend, Poseidon raped Medusa in Athena’s temple so Athena could easily mistake the two willingly having sex in her temple instead of one raping the other.

The fact that Poseidon raped Medusa, and Medusa was unjustly punished for what Athena could have mistaken for willing sex, Medusa could be crying because of that. (I forgot to add this to my last comment)

I like this depiction of Medusa. Very good detail and very imaginative.

:-) Kayla Ascencio replies: "Thanks! I know when I learned more about the legend it made me feel bad for her anyway haha"

I would have to agree with that. In my opinion, you’re depicting the young Medussa. When the loneliness had not yet turned to anger. When Jason finds here she’s been there for hundreds of years, with everyone coming to try and kill her. I think you hot the nail on the head!

:-) Kayla Ascencio replies: "Your interpretion of it being a younger Medusa makes sence to me. I’m sure after so many years she would get used to the loneliness and absoultey be overcome with rage in place of it. Wasn’t thinking of it that way before, but you now have me convinced it would be a strong possiblity1 "
