This is a kirin. I wanted to convey the feeling of a territorial creature protecting it's catch. Did I succeed? It's done on a rather strange base called a scratchboard. It's strange because instead of putting your medium on to a blank sheet, you start with a full sheet and take off what doesn't look like your idea. It didn't scan well at all.

I like your style and approach with this drawing, a very original idea. It is fun to look at.

The legends say that it's the best sort of good luck in the universe to see a kirin. I'm going to stare at her until it's time to go home. Thanx for the blessing!

I love the superiorness of his attitude. I like the subtle way you show him watching over the Earth with his leg protectively over her. The technique is also grand, something I wish we saw more of.

I love the fur! I know it's probably annoying, and can take for ever, but you should do some more of this!

Hey - Great job, scratch boards are hard to work with. I used it in High school, cept we made the boards ourselves, with oil pastels then covered in black acrylic (I think it was acrylic, it was years ago now)

Great job again, wish we could see it in real life - the scanner really messed with it

A very nice use of the scratchboard!

Wow! Yes, it does look very earthy. Perfect, I'd say!

I think did it pretty good. Sratchbroad is no easy thing to do because you can't erase. The horn looks a little too big for its head, but otherwise i think it is fine.
