This is my part of an art trade / request with Erin.

Aching with love,
I want to see you smile.
You with a past of burden,
Let me bring you fire
To guide your path.

Pained with sadness and loss,
I cannot smile
But for a moment with you.
How can I express
The horrors of my past?

Forget the pain,
For once, my dear.
Run with me, run with me.
We can run from it all,
Together, you and I.

But to leave the past behind,
What about her memory?
I should have been there,
I could have saved her.
Why didn’t I?

Some things in life are
Out of our control,
Like these feelings for you,
And the feelings you hold deep inside
Where no one else can see.

I’ll hide that sorrow,
And smile for you just once.
Maybe in time it will be easier,
But for now, just once.
Just once.

(Don't get me wrong; the picture is spectacular either way--I'm just wondering.) Ashley 'Ariarnith Silver Flame' Mutek replies: "The style of the unicorns is based on the unicorns in Meredith Ann Pierce's The Firebringer Trilogy. All of the unicorns have the beards. "

2 Aug 2007	Cristine	Loading... Hey Ashley!!! How are you? It's been like foreverrrr since I talked to you! I hope everything is going all right. I'm so glad that you have an update! This is a really cool drawing, you can really see how much you have improved. The details on the unicorns' faces look really sharp, I especially like the red mare's eye. The hair looks nice, too. The unicorns were drawn at a creative angle, and it makes the picture all the more interesting. Also, the mare's portion of the poem was written in red, and that was a really cool touch! Good work!! Ashley 'Ariarnith Silver Flame' Mutek replies: "I know, I've been so busy, and I think everyone else has as well. Azteca is fabulous, and I've pretty much decided on where I want to go to college, but I'm keeping it a secret until I send in my application. Hehe. And the pic does nothing to help - people say horse’s eyes are lifeless, but you have captured such soul in them...sniff
