Whoa- I drew this today in like 10 intense minutes... she just emerged onto the page out of nowhere! I was sitting at work bored waiting... and she was born. I just drew her eye and the rest follows. She is a goddess of the night, and she is sleeping. But doesn't it seem like her eye could just spring open any moment? And can't you just imagine what her eyes look like? Eerrie- she has a life all of her own. Charcoal on acid free, med weight, traditional laid finish paper

18 Nov 2002	Aleija Hampton	Loading... This has an almost modern style to it, with the warped angles and all. I find it really interesting. I like your use of the charcoal here - it's made this very dark in mood. Her facial expression looks almost peaceful. You've drawn the way I do, in that you didn't plan this. Ashley Lasnetski replies: "Yeah, it was very spontaneos and I like all the motion her hair causes. I never thought of it being modern, but I guess it kinda is now that you mention it... thanks!"

Ashley Lasnetski replies: "Never thought of it that way before.. but i guess you're right! It kinda is. Maybe thats another reason why there is the moon- "Starry Night".. .I love that painting."

Ashley Lasnetski replies: "Yeah- I like that to but I have no idea how it happened! It just kinda did and I love it. The light of the moon- it makes her the night goddess she is I guess."

But I don't think its quite swirly enough- if you ask me. After I saw your artwork this peice I did kinda reminded me of yours (but- I like yours much better) Weird huh? 26 Jan 2003	Logan Pickup	Loading... Cool, I love this picture, you can read so much into it. I like the smile that's not a smile she's got, that's probably my favourite part, but I also like the way hair hair curls into a tunnel, making it look like the light at the end of the tunnel, making her a sort of goddess of the afterlife. Her eyes being closed adds to this symbolism, and gives rise to an interesting twist, like her eye is life, and her eye being closed is death. So yeah, I like this one. Ashley Lasnetski replies: "You're really insiteful! I like your interpetation... this pic jsut kinda happened like she was directing me to draw herself.. as crazy as that might sound. The tunnel thing makes sense and when you said that I really saw and understood... see the artist doesn't ALWAYS know everything. (wink wink) Thanks alot... you've really made me appreciate this drawing all over again."

Almost like she is asking all kinds of questions about yourself that you never would have thought to ask. You did an amazing job on this one also!!
