This was written when I met a friend again for the first time in a while and was so smitten with the encounter...

My most beautiful freak

The status quo lies

Only an unknown beauty as yourself

Can catch my eyes

Sweet denizen of the dark

Vampire soul in despair

Unleash the beast within

Join me in the night air

My cat eyes aren’t stalking you

Though you are my prey

A quick surrender for a quick hunt

Make you mine by dawning day

Let us away like playful Puck

And run from the dawn in the East

Two monsters can paint the town

If one finds a Beauty in the Beast

While I like the overall feel of this one, some of the lines seem awkward and out of place, especially the "storybook" elements, such as mentioning Puck and, unfortunately with the title, the Beauty in the Beast. I'd have to say that my favorite line is the first. "My most beautiful freak". That really sets the stage for something original and interesting. From Maq: Why thank you! To really understand this poem, however, one must play White Wolf's Vampire: the Masquerade. I sorta wrote this from a Malkavian perspective with a true love merit.
