From His house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu rises to engulf the Earth in madness and death.

I've tried to depict Cthulhu for years now, with all the planning and sketching seeming to amount to nothing. Then, one day I sit in front of the computer, open an new blank image file, and start drawing blurred lines with the airbrush tool. Before I even notice what is happening, I am in the middle of creating an eerie portrait of the Great Old one - this one. Even now that it is finished, I'm not entirely sure of anything else but this: Cthulhu is indeed a fickle muse.

OH MY GOD!
This seriously scared me when it popped onto my screen.
It looks like a photograph. I envy you and think you are amazing.
Great pic and keep up the good work!

Very good one. (Or great old one. aha.)
I don't really like the way Cthulhu is depicted as a very muscular humanoid with an angry looking squid on his torso.
This comes much closer to the Cthulhu that lives in my head. Not necessarily evil, but very eerie indeed.

Yet with strange aeons, even Death may die."

I really love this picture. I hope you don’t mind, I sometimes use a smaller version of this image as an icon on forums. (I added a blink animation after a long time, to freak people out a bit).

Thanks a lot for making this.

Nice pic, I like the texture of the face and tentacles! And the pearl-like eyes are great; they fit perfectly with the rest of the face!
