SciFi and Fantasy Art The Ambassador by Tiina Aumala

First contact with an extraterrestial sentience. We've read about it, heard about it, seen it in movies and TV-series. But what happens when our friedly galactic neighbors drop by for a visit, and they're nothing like we had ever expected? This idea inspired me to create this image of an alien ambassador that simply avoids any earthly classification. H.P.Lovecraft's terrific and terrifying creations were an important inspiration for its anatomy, although this being is a lot more benign than most of them... or is it?

7 Sep 2005	Sadako	Loading... I rather hope aliens would look like this - just to see how badly and dangerously we would react to them. Of course, they might be an aggressive race of enslaving monsters, but equally they might be saints. Yet if they looked like this I think we'd go nuts. Its a really good picture, although I know the work of HPL it also reminds me of an organic Dalek.

15 Jan 2007	Kent Jensen	Loading... This is an amazing alien design I don't know who this H.P.Lovecraft is but I will certainly look into it after this. I would be utterly rude probably if I meet an alien like that, because I would probably be looking at it all the time, looking at the details wondering how it functions and how it evolved. I really like the navigational computer too seems biological. A very interesting picture for sure, The details are genius puts it in my favourite folder thnx
