...during a boring lecture: if drawing Skulls* in your notebook doesn't help, try summoning the lord of Dreams and asking him for mercy. :)

I tried to remove the annoying note book lines from the picture but failed. I put it here nonetheless, since this is the best pic of Morpheus I've managed to draw so far (and I quite like the Skull doodle as well).

I really like lis style for Morpheus... It looks a little like some of Brian Froud's work... I hope that doesn't offend, as I mean it entirely as a compliment.

Yay for mid-lecture doodles!

:-) Tiina Aumala replies: "  Offend? Far from it. This being the Dream as he appears to the Faerie, I'm only happily surprised if you see some resemblance to Froud's work."

I don't believe I really know who these characters are at all, but the guy at the bottom looks really awesome, especially his hair. (Did you say he was Morpheus?) The guy at the top is really cute, he looks as if he's sliding on his butt. ^_^

Not sure if this was intentional or not, but it seems to me that the drawing itself illustrates how not to fall asleep--namely, hit the Lord of Dreams upside the head with a falling creature, thus incapacitating him and allowing you to get on with it 12 .

Woot for Skull! ^_^ I love PvP! Your drawing is really adorable (and Morpheus, too).
As for lines, what color were they originally? If the color was different from the sketches (say, blue, and the sketches were in black) then I could probably help you (I really don't want to clutter your comment boars with not-necessarily-helpful advice). Although, the drig effect sort of adds to the whole feel of the sketch.

8 Tiina Aumala replies: "  Well, I had to go and buy a notebook with black lines, didn't I? So, I can't hope to remove them..."

He looks like a creature ive seen before... In an imaginary land you may be familiar with... Were they called seeda, or menanngat... Something of that nature?...

I think the notebook lines add to the picture, as it is about doodling and not falling asleep in a lecture after all. This is a great picture of Morpheus. i have to agree with Hope's comment-dropping the creature on Morpheus's head may be a way to prevent you falling asleep 2 However i would imagine his reprimand would make you wish you'd simply fell asleep, as he's not know for his forgiveness of jokes. Really nicely drawn!

I probably would have fallen asleep anyway... I used to draw in class all the time.
