SciFi and Fantasy Art VUX & Spathi by Tiina Aumala

The VUX and the Spathi, my favourite one-eyed aliens from SCII (even despite the fact that most of the VUX are extremely hostile and hate all humans.) I suppose it has a lot to do with their distinct, real and believeably alien personalities. I felt they both got mistreated by both the model-makers and the scripwriters in the sequel, though so did just about every one of the old species. These sketches show them as I wish they could have been, including the occasionally mentioned but never seen shell of the spathi.

16 Jul 2003	Victoria L. Mcauley	Loading... The SCIII did them no justice what so ever... it's a pity... I really like how you drew the shell on the Spathi, basically the idea I always had in my mind of what they looked like. The Vux looks really good too, lovely detail.

9 Oct 2003	Anna 'NightHawk' Schenk	Loading... Remember the Spathi and their "We're very very very very very very very very very very very very (add about another 15 sorry's)" comment? It was funny. I liked the Spathi because they were really timid but still helpful when they joined the Crux. The Vux were just plain annoying Especially when they came in system to attack you. :/ Great picts!
