I'm very sensitive and insecure, but I hide it under sarcasm and indifference, and it is only the people that take the time and effort to see under it that truly become my friends. I can be shy and quiet in social settings around people I don't know or don't feel comfortable with. Around people I'm comfortable with I'm silly, sarcastic and weird. I love to laugh and joke. I crack jokes for no reason, I crack jokes to play off things that bother me, I crack jokes to avoid answering serious questions. I find a sense of humour extremely appealing, and someone that can make me laugh is definitely someone worth getting to know. I don't have a lot of friends because I'm very particular about who I get close to. I dislike people that aren't honest with others or themselves, people that don't have the common sense god gave a monkey, people that are shallow and don't realize that there's more to someone than what's on the outside, people that don't see that there is more to life than work and sleep. I find I don't have much in common with people whose primary interests consist of football and Nascar. I expect a certain level of intellect from my friends. That doesn't mean I expect you to be a genious or brilliant at math or something. I'm definitely not. I guess I mean more in the common sense and judgement areas. I just expect conversations to consist of more than "Hey how r u, what's up?" I can be silly and weird when I'm out with my husband, Jerry, or around my friends. I don't like being around a lot of people, like at bars or clubs, especially alone. (Although I do love going to Mulligans Pub in Nashville for the live Irish music.) I do a lot of reading, mostly of fantasy books. It would probably be safe to say I'm a bit of a bibliophile. I used to play online games a lot. I've played World of Warcraft, Everquest, Everquest 2, Star Wars Galaxies, and Vanguard. I like RPGs like Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, and The Witcher, also. I'm also a musician. I was a music major for a year, on a piano and voice scholarship. I can also play the clarinet. After I changed majors I was going to school to become a paralegal, but I never completed it. I've been fascinated with anything Irish ever since I was a kid and found out great-grandparents came from there and I would love to visit Ireland. I also enjoy recipes and cooking new things, but only when I feel like it. My husband and I have two dogs; mine is a English Springer Spaniel named Shamrock, the other is a lab named Wonka. We also have a quirky little kitty named Clover. I also enjoy wasting precious time, reading, listening to music, the pursuit of shiny objects, chasing little old people around parking lots, setting small fires, running with sharp objects, talking with the voices in my head, and breaking out into fits of irrational behaviour.
