After the traumatic experience of being turned into a Newt by a reckless witch, this hapless Villager spent several days expecting things to go back to normal. After three weeks as a Newt, the Villager sought out the advice of a seasoned old Wizard in correcting his malady. The Wizard wanted to know why the Villager had waited so long before coming to see him. The Villager told the Wizard, that he had, in his own words, expected to, "Get better". Needless to say the Wizard found the Villager's attitude and predicament exceptionally amusing

I actually drew this picture in my sketchbook while trying to think of an interesting way to depict the traditional Wizard. All Hail Monty Python! whose Holy Grail film was the inspiration for the content. After drawing the picture out, I traced it on a light table onto a large piece of paper and then played around with the watercolors in my spare time. The finished picture is about 9"  X 12" and has the white border added in Photoshop.

Only a few pieces can make me smile when I look at them. Just looking at the character makes me smile along with him. Loved it! And I thought you don't do colored pieces... It would be a shame to waste talent like that! 1

18 Arthur L. Williamson replies: "Glad it made you smile! I did it while I was tanked up on caffeine, butter flavored pretzels and snickers bars so I am never quite sure if i'm the only one that finds it funny or if it really is funny.

Its not so much that I don't do colored pieces as that I get too attached to my artwork and don't want to do anything that might ruin it. For this piece I actually drew it and then traced it onto another page using a light table and thus had no fear of causing it catastrophic ruin becasue I always still had the original. I have been doing a few more pieces lately with color in mind so maybe they will show up one day."

hehe nice face expression indeed 2 it reminds me a smile of drunk soldier from Asterix and Obelix cartoon 2 nice colours too 1 I like the pic!

21 Arthur L. Williamson replies: "What would you do with a drunken soldier... what would you... oh sorry... Don't mind my singing... I just do it to cover up the fact that I know nothing about the cartoon of which you speak though I do mightily appreciate your comment!"

A very original way to depict a Wizard, and I like it. The backstory made it ever better. Good on you.

13 Arthur L. Williamson replies: "Thanks! I was trying to think of a way to do something a little bit different with the whole wizard thing so I'm glad someone likes it."
