SciFi and Fantasy Art Macintosh by Lauren A. Banks

This is a quick character sketch of Jack Tregan's pet red-eared slider turtle, Mac (short for Macintosh), so named because both the turtle and the computer are equally slow. Jack loves his turtle, but hates his Mac and it's constant freezing up and slow loading. *Yells at her own Mac* Yeah, just a quick, ugly doodle colored up with colored pencils and a cheesy Photoshop added background. I tried to go for a simplified realism look for Mac. Don't know if it worked.

19 Feb 2003	Christopher D. Shaw	Loading... Hehehe. Poor Jack. If that comp is as slow as his turtle i'm suprised it's not smashed into a million pieces by now! Love his expression. Can't tell if he's cursing in his sleep or yawning. lol. Putting the turtle head at the top was very dandy. Nice update. Keep em comingLOL. Jack holds his computer out of the window of his 5th floor apartment on a daily basis. ^^ Unfortunately, scare tactics don't work on Macs. I know, I've tried. Curses at her iMac Hmmmm...now that poses an interesting question. Does Jack sleepwalk and sleep-curse? T'would be interesting. ^^ Thanks for the comment Chris!

Lol i love the turtles little question mark. nuzzles the jack one, watching Grey Switch chewtoys yet again, though not relinquishing poor Lee from her grasp. lol I like ^.^ And so fitting, Mac's are the bane of my existence snort growlA slobber coated Lee desperately struggles under Gray's paw as Grey nibbles on Jack's ear Nods Macs are Satan's little helpers. 30 Jul 2003	EitherStorm EitherStorm@hot...com>	Loading... O!!! I Like this piccy! Reminds me of when my computer dies or freezes or pops upwith some stupid error that i know nothing about! And the turtle is just sooo cute. The little "?" over his head makes him look confused(or was that what u wanted?) Im pretty sure little mac doesnt understand why Jack(they rym!) is cursing the "mac" computer. Poor little guy...~_^LOL! They do rhyme! Never even thought of that. ^^ Hee, yup, poor confuzled Mac probably doesn't understand what Jack is saying....which is probably for the best! Thanks for the comment Either. ^^
27 Aug 2003	Artemis	Loading... Macintosh pet names are quite common I'm finding out. Right now I'm reading P.G. Woodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster series and Aunt Agatha has a cute doggy named Macintosh. Of course the events in the books were from a time when computers were still non existant...I also doubt that old Woodehouse ever saw a computer in his life. Poor guy. Anyway you should read the books they're hillarious.You're kidding me!? Dang. I was hoping that no one else had thought of that. Ah well, if it was before computers, at least the name Macintosh wouldn't have held the same meaning for him. Still, argh.
