Tag As FavoriteComment		First off, yes, this is fantasy. Ursa Major comes from Greek mythology, and as the bear is melting into the starry sky behind him, he is indeed Ursa Major, and not a normal bear. Sorry, but this got rejected for being 'not fantasy' enough but is every bit as fatastical as a horse with a horn glued to its head. ANYWAY, this is the fantasy part of a self- potrait done for art class. Its done entirely in charcoal, and was too big to scan, so you get a low quality digital camera shot instead. Sorry about that. A photo reference was used, but it was one that I took at the zoo, so the whole thing is 100% coyrighted to me. The mouth may be a bit off as the bear was munching on a yam (or something vegetably), and I'm not overly sure what bear mouths look like. Much thanks to my roomate for the use of her digicam, and to my boyfriend for forcing me to finish it even though I was frustrated with the shading (on a hand that isn't pictured here) and threatening to burn it.

Wow i love the effects on the fur, amazing, the only flaw i think is the mouth is a bit...triangle. But i love it

You have a way with charcoal, keep it up even though it can get messy I know.

It might have helped with the "fantasy" label if you had the Ursa Major constellation stars showing dimly through the fur. Just a suggestion.
