A gnome on his way back to his hole, after a trip to the local library. This is from an old idea that I sketched back in 1998, and has been sitting in my sketch book unused. My 'Cycle' series was going to be a lot different initially, and have eight different characters, instead of the two I used. I thought this guy was cute, and deserved to come to life by himself. This one is dedicated to my friend Mark Jaruzel, My gnomish gnostic pal since grade school. I hope he finds the wisdom he searches for.

8 Jun 2001	Heidi Patterson	Loading... This is sooo cute! I love it! Your use of colors is wonderful, and the way you did the ink adds a real feeling of... uh, comicness I guess... He reminds me of two people/characters; one, (sorry, I have to say this cuz I’m a fan of Arthurian legend) T.H. Whites’ version of Merlin (minus the hat) and two, of the pictures of Professor Tolkien that you sometimes see on the back of his books... Excellent! For some technical critique, the shading in his robes are magnificently done, but when you get up to his face, it becomes slightly flatter... same for some of the background, but that’s really not that much of a concern, and doesn’t detract from the pict that much... anyway, I commend thee!
22 Jun 2002	Earthlore83	Loading... I usually read the titles of the pics, while the index image is loading, and when i saw the title for this one, i got a reeeeally good idea. "the pursuit of knowledge" basically a library chasing after (and throwing dictionaries and encyclopedias at) several screaming people. Whadja think? Don't matter what u think, i'm gonna draw it!
