Benjamin F Battiste

Well,I am a Thirty something guy from Otisville Michigan, and am serving my third enlistment with the US Army. I grew up in Michigan, where I went to school, and earned my Associates degree in art. After that, I enlisted in the Army as an 11B Paratrooper (Grunt infantry). It seemed like a good idea at the time to try and go out and do something completely out of character so I could experience a little more out of life. Since that time, I have served with the 505th P.I.R in some form or another until May of 2006, when I was selected to get off the deployment cycle, and try to recruit young men and women to serve in the Army, much as I have done.  In August of 09, I came down on orders to move the Germany, which I love, being Bavaria.  I spent some time overseas, fighting in our great "War on Terror."  If anything, my tours have opened my eyes to just  how differently the rest of the world can be, and how lucky many of us are.  My wife Jennifer, is wonderful.  I met her at a hobby shop in Fayetteville, NC, where we became fast friends, and then finally hit it off.  It is a great thing to be married to your best friend.  I have found my interest in fantasy art recindled of late, and have spent much of my time of late painting.  I try to spend as much free time as possible these days playing board games and reading.  I have found a great love for the games by Fantasy Flight as well as many of the "Euros" that are out there.
