I suppose to work on portraits cos' I made that my goal..... But it has almost made me forget my true passion when it comes to drawing!: Creatures

Among the 130 listed creatures i created druing 2000-2001 - I found this: The Pheriarox (which has just been renamed cause I couldn't find its real name written down anywhere)

Either way, it was about time I'd update this poor creature its anatomic construction like the rest of the listed ones is far from perfect. Therefore I have to update it once in a while.
It had originally had a long neck, curved back and longer more separated teeth.
I’ve shortened the teeth cause they where unrealistic long too long, the creature would be heavily disabled and suffer with such teeth
I’ve shortened the neck cause the neck was not impropriate to the animals nature. A long swan like neck can not take a blast of ca a ton along including its weight. The Pheriarox pierces its pray with it’s teeth, sometimes by air or fast speed straight towards it
Nor can a curved back, therefore it is straightened. But it still looks curved cause of the tall and thick spines.

The eyes are now smaller more robust, and has reduced function, they are now only used occasionally to calculate distance and depth. It is very important that this animal does not rely too much on its eyesight.

The ears on the other hand was the only thing that would not be exposed during attacking, therefore I've made them at least 20-30 times bigger and reliable.

It's legs are mainly unchanged, cause of the environment it lives in, and the speed it needs. But the back legs are changed to make it able to jump more, and higher.

It's whole spine is thicker, and so is the skull.
There's alot more details. but they are even more uninteresting. .... Though some changes was made after this drawing. Like its neck has now a large amount of loose extra skin and fat, cause of rivalling and fights amongst specie it self. And its hind legs are lengthened and given a more jump fit design.

That's him with shrunken down teeth?? what did he look like before??! The only creature on earth that can pick his own arse with his teeth... now there's a talent!

:-) J. Anette Jallow replies: "Don't him her, Its a race and her..... That's probably the reason why this specimen does not have .... Some very important male parts.....
Can't regular dogs pic their arses?! ... Deffinitly not bulldogs though. They'd be lucky if they could pick anything... o.O"

Superb... I love the muscle structure... and the head! Amazing; I am probably attracted to the skeletal element about it as I attempt to do similar stuff with my works, as I know you've seen. Well done.

:-) J. Anette Jallow replies: "Hi Simone, Long time no "see".
I love anatomy and all that too, the way you can see the muscle structure and bones through the skin is just gorgeous really. Though I am working on giving my animals designs a more realistic look. So far I've only manage to make one drawing of a peculiar half domesticated canidae.
I never thought a simple pooch could be so hard to draw..."

Oh--my--God... Your shading is impeccable! I can't believe how much contrast you acheived here... Just amazing! I love the perspective and, of course, the idea, as well. Awesome!!!Thanks! it was a looooooooot of work I tell ya o.O

Haha, I love him! He look almost sweet, except for, you know, the 5 inch long teeth and the rippling muscles. =) Excelent work. Love this creature.

:-) J. Anette Jallow replies: "hehe thank you. (damn I should've given her less steriods..... ooops)"

She is gorgeous! I love all of your creations but your critters are tops. The fact that you put so much thought into function, not just form, is very admirable. It's almost like this lovely was more engineered than drawn. Brava!

It's too tempting to over-exaggerate certain bits just for effect. Or worse, make something too small and fragile just because it looks prettier that way. *lol* the pathetic, flimsy wings my pegasi used to have are a perfect example. You obviously do not suffer this weakness.

This beautiful beasty is a testament to your amazing talent! The conformation screams strength & agility, power & grace. The legs alone are works of art, especially those nimble feet. And, to top it off you showcase her with some astoundingly gorgeous shading. You are my hero.

:-) J. Anette Jallow replies: "Hehe, oh my… I don’t know what to say. “Thanks” is certainly not enough. How about thank you sooooo much times thousand!!!!!!!!! ^___^

Well there’s a lot more then Pegasus that is kind of dysfunctional. Lately I’ve been studying domesticated canines and their develop through selective breeding. And gosh. There are so many flaws with those poor dogs that I’m impressed they’re able to live. Especially the standard bull dog, the poor dog suffers through its whole life and it has totally lost all flexibility. I think the race needs to be crossed with a whippet or Italian greyhounds to make it more flexible and able to breathe and move naturally along with some other more canines with primal and stabile proportions.

I bet this lady needs a lot of work too. I’ve come up with some improvements. But I haven’t had the time to redraw her.

Thank you so much for the comment! "

I once made an image I called The Rat for the purpose of my ABUSE campaign that me and my buddies still haven't gotten to (we have a lot of other campaigns to do first). This image really reminds me of that picture (all be it, much better). I like art that reminds me of things I have done or seen, I can relate to them. I love the amount of detail you put into this piece. The muscles and bone structure all look real (though demonic). This one is one of the best of seen here. You get an A+ in my book, well done!

:-) J. Anette Jallow replies: "wow! thank you sooo much for your comment!!!!!!!!! SO FLATTERING, WHEEEE ME HAPPY 1"
