| 16 Jun 2004 | Phil M. Hickey | Loading...So, is there an Aquarius in the works? Aside from that little reminder, I wanted to thank you for coming by and commenting on my story "Marathon", and to tell you that I got a few more stories up, but if you should happen to have some time and do swing by, under no circumstances look at "Pilze Oder Pils", because I am taking it down and editing it. Chris Jackson came by and took a gander (he was helpful enough to give me a detailed critique as well) and pointed out that a few off color words slipped by, so I am going to have to fix it, not just that, but also the problems he found with it are now glaring at me. Oh well, I wasn't completely happy with it anyway.okay okay, I'll do an Aquarius, lol! By the time I finally got around to visiting your library shelf again, that story was no longer there. So no worries | |
| 23 Jun 2004 | Phil M. Hickey | Loading...Yay! Aquarius! Yay! I'm off to go hum the song from that silly musical, as loudly as possible, with the hope of annoying all passerby. Oh, and by the way, the fact that I am an Aquarius has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I lobbied so heavily for this one. It is, after all against the laws pertaining to conflicts of interest... oops, sorry. Just me getting political again. | |
| 8 Jul 2004 | Erin M. Ramos | Loading...woooowww!!! I love your gallery. Please visit mine whenever it finally gets published. I'd love your input.
And I'm sorry but i do have to put my 2 cents in about the skinny not skinny, hourglass non-hourglass figure thing: It is really nice to see figures who aren't stick thin but hourglass figures are not as impossible as everyone seems to think. I have a 36" bust and hips and a 24" waist. And while this may be the so called perfect figure, I HATE IT! I would be more than happy to give anyone the extra inches if they want it. People have no idea how hard it is to find clothes since manufacturers make clothes for normal girls who aren't hourglasses. It's very stinky.
Anyway, you can ignore that last paragraph. I'm just venting. But i do love your gallery. And would you possibly consider doing a capricorn to go with your aquarius? pretty please? with sugar and a cherry on top?I hope to eventually do the entire zodiac series, but I'm a really slow worker so it'll probably take me a quite a while to get them all done, lol. Thank you for your comment...you words go to prove that there can't possibly be one 'perfect' body type. Down with social standards!
| 15 Jul 2004 | Sherrie Spencer | Loading...Wow, what a great gallery. You have some really good artwork. Keep it up!! Actually I kinda had a alterior motive for wondering in here. I been on Elfwood for a really long time, and I was wondering if you would just go and peak at my page and tell me what you think. Please. If not, its no big deal, I'm just trying to generate more traffic (and comments heh) on my page. Thanks Again great art. Never stop. Thanks, I'll go check out your gallery ^^ | |
| 18 Jul 2004 | Phil M. Hickey | Loading...By the way, I have another story posted, called For The Love of Yes Men" that is a bit different from other stuff I have done, but I've had only one comment on it, so it's kind of hard to see how it is hitting people. I know you must be busy and all, but if you get a chance, could you try to take a look at it? I would be most appreciative. | |
| 18 Jul 2004 | Karin Schadinger | Loading...Hi becky!! Your art is so cool!!! Really great stuff.
Anyway. I have a question: Once a man told me that My story was on the way to get a mod's choice once I foudn somebody to edit it for me. Now I read a really great play of one of my friends and there are a lot of people who think that it's mod's choice worthy. And I wanted to edit it for her- but how does this work? Or can't I do this?
I'll leave a link to her story, in case it works this way too! She deserves a mod's for this amazing play! Honestly! ^^ http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/libr/g/b/gbowden2/inside_my_stomach.htm.html
Thanks for reading this, all the best Karin
| 13 Dec 2004 | Carrick | Loading...Umm, I just kinda stumbled onto your page and I've looked at all your stuff that you have posted. You asked for constructive criticism, and I'd love to give it, but I don't know that a multinational forum is the best place for it. All of your earlier comments have been pretty positive, but from my experience with critiques, blown smoke doesn't help you get better. A couple of comments that I do want to share with you and whoever else is reading is, shade and shade often. Lighting is your friend, use it to the max. Also, I'm not sure if you stuck to the Prismacolors throughout all of your posted pieces, but if you're still using them you're not pushing them enough. The Anime style has been done...let the Japanese have it. Make your own that is better. Perspective, lighting, gradation/shading/color, hell even throw in a little more form and space to make your pieces pop. The un-colored sketch that is posted has SO much potential... don't make me finish it for you so you can see what I mean... Don't get stuck in a rut, it's the kiss of death. Oh yeah, from the comments you had on a few of your pieces it seems like the background and the foreground are two separate things....they HAVE to mesh otherwise they just seem funky and misplaced. Good luck with it all. And in case you wondered, no, I'm not an art teacher, I'm just a pilot with other skills.Thank you so much for you comment. I really appreciate all of your suggestions--these are things that I know I need to work on (especially more shading and more integrated backgrounds. And I do hope to finish all the WIPs that are posted--I just need to find the time to do them. This school semester is almost done ). And hey, you don't need to be an artist to critique art Thanks again! | |
| 1 Nov 2005 | Arthur L. Williamson | Loading...Nice gallery Becky! You have a very simple style that looks really nice. I appreciate that many of your works do incorporate a background and feel more thought out and complete than a lot of the artwork I see around here. Keep it up!I'm a bit late in replying, but thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed going through my gallery! | |
