My first watercolor ever. I like how it came out!

First watercolor huh? @#$%! I wish my first watercolor had looked like that. The effects you used are impressive and your control... Enviable. The boots especially... How big is this thing? Getting that kind of detail on something small would drive me nuts! Great job. My only quip is one of composition, which is probably moot in such a great painting. The brilliance of the sword makes the whole picture lean towards it making it unbalanced... Then again, you may want it unbalanced as it increases the feeling of unease.

1 Rebecca Louise Parker replies: "Thanks! Actually, this was done on just your regular 8.5 x 11" paper (maybe I cheat a little; I draw the picture on normal computer paper and then print out a copy onto watercolor paper, and I have to cut the watercolor paper to get it to fit in the printer). Glad you like it!"

Watercolour?!?! That's wicked! If this doesn't get mods I'm a monkey's uncle. I can barely do gradients in watercolour. *first comment jig*

The only cheating in art comes from copying someone else's work and calling it your own... Anything else is genius! 8.5/11... Wow. I am impressed! Even with a print out water color can be hard to control. You rock! and i forgot to mention, i love the red!
