there is a lesser known story of stokesay castle, shropshire ,england.two giants lived on opposite hills with the castle in between, beneath the castle the giants kept a chest of treasure guarded by a large raven.one problem.there was only one key,so whenever a giant needed to go in the chest the other would throw it across the valley to his fellow.sadly one day ,one of the giants did not throw it far enough and it landed in the castle moat with a splash!the giants searched for the key for years and eventually died.and it is said to this day the treasure still lies somewhere beneath the castle although no one has ever found it.

Brilliant work - I've heard the story before - it's nice to see obscure myths like that portrayed 2 love the crow/raven - gives it a slightly ominous or mystical feel, but the red leaves brighten it up. Great, great work!

I love this picture. Not only that it's very well done, but the way it tells the whole story. Great work!

A really nice painting. I visited the castle a couple of years ago, but didn't realise there was a myth surrounding it. Very interesting!
