| 6 Feb 2002 | Ben Bridenbaugh | Loading...Dibros looks sad because he's singing a really sad song. Glad someone knew that song. I'm referring to the Phil Ochs version, done more than twenty years before McKennit's take. IMHO, Phil Ochs did a much better job, and I do like Lorena's music too. You'd like looking up Phil Ochs, he wrote a lot of the 60's/70's songs, including Dylan's, and sang them better even according to Dylan! No, I'm not that old. I was in diapers when this stuff was popular, but I still like the 70's stuff better than most stuff out today. If you like the New Age/Neopagan stuff, check out Jethero Tull's "Songs from the Wood" album, especially "Cup of Wonder" Very, VERY good music, direct theme, but so subtle you could probably play it to a fundamentalist minister without him catching on for a long time. | |
