SciFi and Fantasy Art Living fire by Hana Běťáková

This is my first attempt to make a picture only in Photoshop...hard work, I should be more patient. But it turned out quite good, though it DOESN'T look like I imagined it. The idea came to me couple of years ago, when I was witnessing fire in the darkness. It looked like a phoenix getting up from its nest. I don't know where the idea of the flowers came from, but they look a little bit like flowers, that were blossoming in our garden. I feel they could be fire-flowers from Narnia, you know, Lucy's healing cordial was made from their juice. The result reminds me of Inuit art...

OK, you already know that i love the colours red, orange and yellow, but i must say that this is one of the best drawings I ever saw of it! i looks a bit like the windows in churches, you know! this is a really good drawing, i really love it (the black background makes the colours nicer then they already are, so thats very good too!) 19 Jun 2006	Laura S.	Loading... well i like it! i´m not sure i´d be able to do that now in photoshop! really cool, really does remind me of some indian art, or something. Yay for Hana!!! Hana Běťáková replies: "Oh, thanks! It was really very simple, using only the brush and that tool which selects area. (I prefer that one, which creates the borders from segments, you can have good control of it. Which is hard when you work with the mouse.)Yay for Laura!!!"

(And then of course I can image it flying from a pole at a tent at Pennsic, or something... not that I've managed to go, mind you, but then, I haven't been to Narnia either.) 20 Dec 2006	Sdixon	Loading... Ooh... looks in awe at the photoshop art I wish I could do even that on my computer art program! I like the flowers the most. Hana Běťáková replies: "It's really funny how people seem to be amazed by it, because it's so SIMPLE! I just made the colours with brush at first and then used the lasso tool to create the shapes and the black areas... oh well, the flowers were made a little bit different, and now I cannot remember how exactly I did it - but also using lasso tool. But thank you a lot, I'm glad that this simple method worked! ;-)"
