Done over a period of 3 weeks, with 2-3 (occasionally more) hours of work per day.
If you wanna know what it is... well, I still haven't figured it out yet.

Mitsubishi & Faber-Castell pencils + metallic pens on black cardboard. Original size: 19.7 x 28.3 inches

I really like this scrapboardpicture all the details and the scales in the serpent.
No question why this was a moderators choice I would have made the same decision (Bad spelling).

All those details are just stunning!
I actually have a dragon figurine that’s sort of the same idea as this. It has a wyrm’s head poking out from a counch shell kind of like how you’ve got the snake-dragon coming out from a nautalis shell.

What really caught my eye is the subtle change of colors around the shell which gives the whole an iridescent quality.

So glad to see you’re still drawing and posting here, Bicskei. Your painstaking attention to detail never falters. The colors are really lovely in this one, in contrast to the background. I never forget your artwork, not even ten years later.
