I'm thinking about writing a story or poem for this picture...This is a still-nameless siren who lives on a tiny cliff in the middle of the sea,and to ease her loneliness she creates flocks of seabirds who play with her. She's also visited by a small sea-dragon sometimes, who brings her news about the world's matters.Anyway*ehem*,the quick guide to what a siren is : A beast from Greek mithology with a beautiful woman's face and the body of a bird.It is said to have the most incredible voice in the world, which it uses to lure sailors into their doom, for it feeds on-human blood.Clipped by the scanner-*again*.

No offense, but i am a mythology freak,(and your picture is exceptional) but the creature you described is a harpy, a siren is a beautiful sea creature with a hypnotic voice that lures sailors to their death
but great pic ^-^

The picture is a vision of glory and beauty ,it's detail is somtimes too much for the small surface and i'm sorry to say it lacks life, you shood try more color and to give it a colosal amount of life and strenth add the human element <even a shadow of a human> .

Beautifully done! I agree that a story or poem would be a good addition. Or a song... ;-) However, the picture alone is quite moving.

I think that this one would really go well with a song or poem. I wouldn't know though, i'm the bassist, not the vocalist, but i still think it would. Very pretty, i love how unique you artwork is! How long did it take you to get this good, i'm wondering... Yeah, i'm only a teen yet.

I once did a poem on on the sirens, but i guess my sources were different. i thought the had the half body of a fish, and lured sailors to get immortality. But who really cares, this picture is SLAMMIN". i like it much better than the one i did for my poem.(argh, im jealous!)

Theres a great book that takes the Siren myth and puts them in a better light saying that they didn't try to kill people, but sung them to thier island so they could find a husband. I think the title of the book is just Siren.. and I can't remeber who it is by. but your pic reminded me of it.

Wow, this is gorgeous! I’m using it to show my students what a siren looked like. I love how it conveys a sense of heartache. It’s a great way to point out that many "monsters" are rather "human".
