| "Nothing left Nothing rests You declared what your faith is But you still have the fear The way you’ve left your life open Will not bring your destiny here Do I continue my journey Confusion is wrapped in my mind So when your gone with your martyr You can continue your lies Your words that gave me direction (Protecção) Helped me turn into what I thought I wanted (Me diga a verdade) Fists that gave me protection (Você / Precisa / direcção) Helped me deal with you (Precisa / Protecao) So for now our days are through (Me diga a verdade) I left my sorrow behind Warning not to give up the fight" Music by Apocalyptica, text by Max Cavalera & Matt Tuck. Read the full lyrics HERE. While the drawing was mainly inspired by the song, it is also a metaphore for the state of our world-the unicorn being Earth, ensnared by the cruel, hungry vines of civilization, drained of all its values, slowly destroyed and defiled while humans (represented by the butterflies) obediently CONSUME the products of industry (here the large, pretty and apparently serene flower), unaware of, or unwilling to care about, the damage done to the very source of their life and well-being. Done with mechanical pencil, roughly 20 hours. You can see a detail HERE. |
