This is my lastest attempt at a shield design, it turned out ok, but this was also an experiment. i was trying to get alot of detail in this one, don't know if i succeeded or not, but i was going for scales on the main part of the shield. be very brutal how did it turn out?

I like the picture, and just a few small things to work on. The shield is backwards or left handed. The big part should be inside so it could block some of the body. Also, if down the middle those are spikes, it needs to be defined more. Maybe a bit of shadow at the bottom of em? Anyways, good work.

:-) Joshua Doten Davids replies: "it is left handed, i just need to flip the pic around when i resend it so it is facing the right way. as for the stuff down the center, it isn't spikes just elongated scales, at least that is what i was going for anyways."

amazing weapons - your weapons have more flavour then the ones shown in the D&D books - LMAO. u should think of adding shadows under the shields or all the weapons - would really help bring them out. amazing stuff still

:-) Joshua Doten Davids replies: "thank ya, yeah i have noticed how at times black some of the weapons in the D&D books are or how...odd the designs are. though i envy thier skill for metal shading which i am still learning. i have been working on the idea of shadows behind the stuff, or at least a little background."

Nice use of a dragon's scale... very good shield used before.

It looks more like a bracer than a shield. And I agree, the spikes should be more defined. Bit it looks like a right handed bracer, ya know, a small shield worn over the forearm to deflect close range sword strikes.

Your drawings really kick as*! They're the best looking weapons that ive seen one here so far.

It's a really good design I think, but like most things, there are a few problems. The scales down the middle, don't really look like scales I think. The tiny ones though are amazing. The only other real thing I can see (and it might just be me) is that as I look down from the left end to the right, it seems to twist. I think it's the shading that makes it look that way.

Which way is it held?
Along the arm, or tall?
