Two Peredhil and a king. For the first time in his life Elrond Half-elven is confronted with his human attributes. Though not as susceptible to illness as a full-human he still can become ill (That's at least what I like to think). Gil-Galad (on the left) quickly fetches the best healer he can find, who examines his young herald. Besides: The healer on the right is Ithelin, one of my own characters. Only after I had invented him and his story of life I learned that Earendil and Dior were the first half-elves ever. But I must say I do not find it logical, poor Dior had no chance to choose between the two people since Earendil had not yet entered Valinor to ask those scatterbrained Valar what should happen to him and his kind. Had none of them thought of the possibility before? :-D But since I like elves and I like beards (why is Círdan my most favourite elf?) I like peredhil and my Ithelin stayed what he was: One of the first surprise brats of Nargothrond, later on becoming a healer for the elves do not have a real reason to occupy themselves with that topic. He becomes the teacher of Elrond later on. And yes, the little elfchild here on my page is him, too, though I changed his eye-colour with the development of the character.

I like this one very much. The faces are wonderful, expressing emotion. I like the character's clothing, everything seems to be shimmering silk! And I love the way you draw and paint hair so that it always has this shimmer!

1 Birthe Jabs replies: "In fact I painted the whole picture around Elronds nice thick dark brown hair."

Wow, I guess I never thought someone would be even more unconsciously into the Silmarillion than me! but it takes all kinds.

Elrond looks too adult to be a child on this picture....

:-) Birthe Jabs replies: "Who said he was a child?"

Exquisite. And cute.
Wow. I'm just amazed at the watercolor technique. It's so very hard to use watercolors, and it looks so professionally done. Like prints should be sold of this.

A really cute idea! But no, I don't think that the scatterbrained Valar had given it a thought - after all, Lúthien had to be rather firm to make them even consider the whole concept... I like your colours - the anatomy in this piece is also fine, though the proportions may seem a bit off. On the other hand, the composition is wonderful. It's hard to balance a picture with three people close up, especially if one wants all the faces to be seen.
