Hello! I'm Birthe Jabs, perhaps bettern known as BJ Malata. I was born in 1984 and draw since I'm thinking and like fantasy most. Lord of the Rings but also the Blizzard computergame Starcraft inspired me. And the Piranha Bytes computergame 'Gothic'. It's a fantasy RPG with great atmosphere (better than morrowind, I have to say). Otherwise I have no idea what to write about myself and my art. I hope you will write more! ;-D By the way, if you are interested in my art, want to give me feedback (please!) or discuss about it, go ahead and email me! And now have fun and look around here. I much appreciate constructive criticism or tips.
Hurray! As soon as I reached the 50 pictures I may have 50 more! Blessed be Elfwood!
Update! After a longer Gothic (Jowood) pause I returned to Tolkien, writing fanfiction and drawing. I tried to learn, yes! First, I went with my friend to stables and drew horses. I hope my horses have improved since. Second I tried to occupy myself with colour schemes. I am in love with Jenny Dolfen's pictures, as with those of Anke Eissmann, my two favourite watercolour artists. They both have so much feeling for the right colours - I hadn't and tried to teach myself some theory about colouring. Third I relearned to do facial proportions right, hopefully keeping eyes and mouths from slipping out of their right position.
After the big crash ate up my last ticket: Here the update. Since I nearly reached the 100 pictures mark I decided to make a spring-cleaning and throw some older or not-so-good stuff out. I'm sorry when it hit a picture you commented on and at this point want to say thank you to you all who commented !
Warning: My gallery contains some nudity (but really descreet, I'd say, except for Celebrimbor) and homosexual affection. If you are offended by that please don't fill my comment lists with your raving but keep away from those pictures.
Update in my life: I became a student lately. I moved to the haven city Kiel and am now studying Multimedia Production. It is not much about art, more about print and html and later on 3d Design, what is most interesting for me.
News! Finally! perhaps you have noticed that it became quite still around here. But I'm back! And thoroughly, now. I finally have my own internet access and flatrate. That means updates without problems. Very good. Though my student life eats quite some time and doesn't leave me much for drawing. Especially lately. But sometimes new pictures are finished. The problem at the moment is that I draw bigger formats and have no digital camera to take fotos of the drawings. But no matter, I will update in the next days. I was on a little con a month ago, that was an interesting thing, and will hopefully be able to do more life role play. And I'm learning bow-shooting at the moment, very cool. I hope I see you back in my gallery when I offer you some new pictures! :-)
UPDATE! And in my artist-life, too. I finally have a graphic tablet! Was quite time. At the moment im nearly all the time hanging before the monitor, drawing until my poor spine breaks. Greetings and thanks go out to Linda Bergkvist alias Furiae for wonderful pictures and tutorials which helped me greatly to have a good start with my tablet.
Tell me how you like the digital pictures!
