"Angel" by Daniela Black Phoenix Irimiash

Yay for free theme! XD 

Yeah it's a painting I did for school. Our teach "said" to us to bring paper and water colours, but we brought cardboards and oils. After a short ethics lesson, she gave us free theme, with a condition: to be abstract. Well, my work isn't too abstract, rather surreal, but I must say, I'm very proud of it! ;) It took me quite a long time to figure out what to, luckly I gathered my toughts fast enough to finish it; if I don't finish an artwork in the first blow I usually never continue it. And oils dry in a loooong time, some of them never dry(like my first work XD). Ah well, I liked painting this one. No story behind it; the angel isn't nor male, nor female, it isn't nor fallen, nor rising or whatever; just a weird androgyn angel rising (or falling?) from a blue-ish flame, wrapped in a red ribbon. Inicially I wanted to draw a dragon at it's legs, but it turned ugly, then I added some water waves, but I had no idea how to draw it so I ended making the flame and vibrated backround. Whatever, any possible story is accepted with open arms. And NO! The angel isn't haging! :P Oil paint on cardboard, 50X70 cm.
