SciFi and Fantasy Art Sentinel of the Ocean by Anna E. Lawton

A typical winged-horse-on-cliff-edge picture with a twist - this horse has found itself in a japanese landscape. I love japanese art, and this background is influenced by the beautiful work of Ando Hiroshige. I don't pretend to know the japanese language, but the kanji (found on the web) mean something like 'Winged Ocean Sentinel'.
(I have to confess, I wasn't so keen on this horse really...it was supposed to be a Fire Pegasus, but I didn't like the flame-things on its fetlocks so I added a background just to get some practice in.)
Coloured pencil and ink on cartridge paper. Scanning and resizing didn't do much for the colour or quality. *sigh*
