This picture was really an experiment with composition and mixing media together. The unicorn was coloured using acrylic paints, black ink and metallic pencils, and the background was created digitally. I am a great fan of stylised and japanese art, and am quite pleased with the way this piece kind of uses elements of both.
PS. I can honestly say I have never seen The Last Unicorn :o)

this unicorn picture is one of my favorites. The whole picture has a feel to it that is pleasing to my eyes.
Hope you do more

Wow...very good, I love it.

Only two little suggestions: take out the shadow so it doesn't look like the unicorn is just floating there and (in agreement with another post) the horn is a little off.

Otherwise this piece is absolutely wonderful! 2

By the way, I highly recommend reading the book The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle. It is totally awesome! 2

*pokes ignorant person* For shame. I think this is a lovely picture. Its very simplicity is charming, and I know from experience (failed trials, oh-so-many failed trials) that capturing this sort of clean simple image is VERY HARD TO DO. *bows to Lawton* Kudos m'dear. Much kudos.
