Great start here. my recommendation overall is just a LOT more shading to give your pieces that 3d/alive feel to them. Highlights and shadows really bring a person to life on paper. Do not be afraid to experiment!

Shading is what is giving me the most fits right now... well, that and noses, hehe. Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. "

Try picking up 'drawing real people' by Lee Hammond. It is like $15 or so, but in my opinion, it is a VERY good book on showing how to do shading and add detail work to pictures. You an also try www.portrait-artist.org for a nice look at how to shade. I also just look at peoples work and don't be afraid to experiment. Do pages of just noses, lips, eyes, etc., focusing on just shading them until they look so real you swear they could come off the page, then work on putting all the elements together in one piece. That way you are not worried about 'ruining' a piece because you are only working on elements.
