| 6 Jun 2004 | Lady triffid | Loading...wow, i agree with the previous comment about tove jansson, your style is quite similar. i love the dark feel to the painting, and how the only other dominant colour is red, it makes the painting very dark and somewhat frightening. Well done! *walks off humming the moomin theme* Marlčne Blanc replies: "LOL !! Thank you moomin's theme singer! I love working with dark atmosphere ...Especially with strong contrasts like here with the red lantern as you said! Thank you for your very nice comment!" | |

I don't think you ever heard about her, but her characters name is mumintrollet. Marlčne Blanc replies: "Thank you very much! Yeah I didn't hear about Tove Jansson...But I'm happy that some of my works remind people of some author or illustrator, that's really encouraging! Thanks again!"

| 25 Jun 2004 | Sunny Garcia | Loading...I REALLY LOVE THE CONTRAST and it took me five minutes to see that there was somebody holding the lantern. I like this kind of painting that you have to examine to see all the things. Thanks for showing us you art. Marlčne Blanc replies: "Ohhhh....Thank you!! That's a really nice comment you've written me! I love sharing my fantasy and art world...As everybody in elfwood I guess...Thank you to let me know that my work is appreciate!! Thanks!!!" | |
| 1 Jul 2004 | Thomas M. Allen | Loading...There is nothing wrong with a dark picture I think it's great! The way you've done the texturing has made the path leading into the forest and the trunks of the trees prominant enough to see. I think that the forest would look even more uninviteing if you tried to paint more trees behind the first to make it a little more 3d. Marlčne Blanc replies: "Thank you!! Yeah I know what you means by 3D with more trees! And you're totaly right! I love working with night's light cauz' everything is suggested, not really visible, and mysterious! Most of the scene I have to paint for my legend happen during the night or when the sun's light is "weak"(I'm not sure that it's the appropriate word, but I guess you understand me ... I hope.... )Thanks again Thomas for having comment on gallery once again! That's cool! " | |

| 10 Sep 2004 | Pippa Carter | Loading...Ah! I don't know if you have seen a film called 'The Village' but it looks *exactly* like the monsters in that film - when I saw this it brought back all the terror o.O
The dark, glimmering atmosphere is perfect...I think I'll move on before I get too scared...

Wow. Was this painted with acrylic paints? You have done a wonderful job. I love the eerie red light which is so different from the dark black and grey of the rest of the forest. It's also really cool how Zenir is almost hidden by the darkness, except for his head, shoulder, and his arm.
Excellent work! I hope I can paint as well as you can with acrylic paints some day.
